Cistern
Items: 28
Secrets:
Kills: 34
This is a very intricate level that will keep you quite stumped. If you're really stuck, consult the hints below.
Claustrophobia
The beginning of this level seems to be one tight space after another. That block, you'll need it in the next room, not this one. Don't worry, in a few moments, you'll have plenty of room to stretch your legs.
Behind
Closed Doors
If you spend time looking around, you will find that there are a lot of closed and locked doors. That should clue you in on what you're looking for. Obviously some keys must be obtainable so you can get a door open and continue. The first key is just sitting in a hard to reach place in the main room of the cistern, and the second key requires you to go somewhere that might not seem like such a good place to go at first.
Hanging Around
There's a big crevice that runs along most of one wall and part of another. Don't you think it's just calling out for some shimmying.
Oh Grate!
Rat infested water, that's also a shade too green, doesn't sound like a healthy place to swim around, but if you could somehow take care of the rats, you think maybe it wouldn't be so bad?
Sour Grapes
It's cruel that someone should leave stuff in plain sight but appears to be out of reach. Or at least it seems like every time you try, you end up plummeting a couple of stories? The distance from the bridge to the alcove is definitely within Lara's abilities. The real problem is knowing both how far it is as well as the jump that will get you there.
Filling the Tub
If you've been to the pipe room and played with the lever, then you'll know why this level is called the cistern. The next two keys are essentially located in the same area; however, the water level must be up to get one key and down to get the other. And the water level must be up to get the last key.
Which Switch
is Which?
Now, by this point in the game you should be able to recognize what normal switches and underwater levers look like. If you spot a lever in a dry room twenty feet above your head or a switch on a wall underwater, what do you think that means?
Checkers
In the room with the big checkerboard floor. Pay attention to the dark squares. And the switch at the other end of the room is just asking to be pulled. This time will power will prove more useful.
Push Comes
to Shove
So, if the switch doesn't open the door to the exit, I guess you'll have to look around for the way out. Now you can be sure they would not have put three sets of locked doors, a gorilla and two lions between you and this room if the exit wasn't somewhere to be found here.
