Step forward and draw pistols. Shoot the bell to open the door on the
left. Run forward and turn right to enter the large room. Run
forward and angle to the right. Step onto one of the two springboards
that is in front of the archway, which will pop Lara upwards and
forward. Grab onto the ledge and pull up. Turn left and run forward
and step up to the higher ledge. Turn left and run forward and
collect two pairs of Uzi clips (1, 2)
from the alcove. Hop back and pull the lever to the right to lower
the cage holding the yeti below and raise the cage near the
entrance. Turn left and run forward, and step down to the lower ledge. Hang from the ledge, down into the hole and wait for three yeti (1, 2, 3) to climb up. Pull up and draw pistols and kill the yeti from above. Safety drop to the ledge below and turn left. Run forward and turn right. Run to the corner and pick up a large Medi Pack (3). Reverse roll and run forward, turning left and run forward. There is an opening to the left where the cage of yeti formerly was. Run along the left side of the ledge and run off the corner of the ledge. Lara will either take a little skip and enter the room beyond, or she will need to grab the edge of that opening and pull up. Ready Uzis and turn right. Run forward to the stairway and immediately begin hopping backwards. Open fire on the yeti (4) that descends the stairs. When the yeti is dead, collect a second large Medi Pack (4). Run forward and turn right and head up the stairs. In the room at the top of the stairs, Lara will find a lever on the left wall. Pull it to raise a platform outside. Turn around and run back down the stairs, turning left to return to the lower room. |

SECRET #1
|
In the lower room, run forward and to the far right corner. Hop back a block and turn right. Pull the movable block out once, and push it to one side. Enter the passageway to find a huge room with a pedestal against the far wall. Simply straight run forward, falling off the edge of the upper ledge. Lara will land on an invisible ledge. Run forward and climb onto the pedestal and pick up SECRET #1, the gold dragon (5). Turn around, drop onto the invisible ledge, and run back to the opposite ledge and climb up. Run forward to exit this room. | ||

Run forward and safety drop down the opening to the cage below. Exit
the left side of the cage, and take the hairpin turn to the left. Run
forward and turn left. Run past the double springboards into the
archway, being careful not to step onto the springboard inside. Press
and hold the action key and run onto the springboard from the right.
Lara will reach out and attempt to grab a ledge, but that action will
adjust her trajectory and she will land on the platform that she just
raise. Turn right and walk to the other end of the platform. Draw
pistols and turn right. Jump up and shoot the bell to raise one of
the two gates below and to the left. Put away pistols and run
diagonally to the left, landing on the slope. Lara will slide
backwards, so grab the bottom edge and safety drop to the
ground. Turn around and exit this archway, being careful not to step on either the single springboard inside the archway, or the double springboard just outside of it. Turn left in front of the double springboard and then turn right and walk between double springboard and the single springboard. Make a hairpin turn to the left and squarely align Lara with the springboard, making sure Lara has a fairly long running start, but being careful not to step onto the springboard behind her. Ready pistols and run forward, stepping onto the spring board. Open fire Lara springs upward to hit a bell ahead and above, which opens the other gate. Lara will land on a slope, taking a little damage, and slide backwards to the ground. Turn left, run forward, and turn right and enter the archway. Walk all the way to the back left corner of the archway, being careful not to step on either of the springboards in the archway. Stand in the middle of the block in the back left corner, half a block away from the springboard and run forward onto the springboard. Lara will be catapulted up to the slope above. Grab the ledge above and shimmy to the right. Pull up, press and hold the jump button, and Lara will begin to bounce between two sloped ledges. Draw pistols and fire at another bell to open a gate on the left. Now, with the jump key still depressed and Lara still bouncing between the two ledges, each time Lara begins to jump forward, press the left arrow key to cause her to angle to the left as she jumps forward. Continue until eventually she will land on the flat ledge beyond the slopes. Turn left and climb up into the dark alcove behind the newly opened gate, and run forward. Climb the ladder and shift to the right to reach the ledge above. Turn around and run forward, climbing onto the ledge ahead. Ready Uzis and take a running jump diagonally to the left to clear the hole and land on the ground beyond. Another yeti (5) will attack from the dark tunnel ahead. Kill it quickly, and be careful not to fall to the ground while performing evasive maneuvers. Climb onto the pedestal to the left and collect a box of flares (6). Drop back to the floor and climb into the dark tunnel that the yeti emerged from. Stand on the right side of the tunnel and run down the slope and run up the slope on the right, where Lara will find a closed door. Ready weapons to kill a white tiger (6) that will emerge from the room beyond. |

SECRET #2
|
Halfway down that slope is a passageway that leads off to the right. A run or jump up into the dark passageway, and turn right and run forward until Lara reaches a slope. It may be necessary to light a flare to see in the dark. Take a standing jump over the slope and turn left to find SECRET #2, the stone dragon (7). Turn right and slide back down to the dark tunnel. Run forward and turn left to return to the stone ramp. | ||
Tibetan Mask
|
Take a running jump to the left to a raised alcove. Turn right and
collect a small Medi Pack (8) that is in
the corner. Turn around and drop back into the dark path below.
Ready weapons and head forward to the next cavern. As soon as Lara
steps forward into the next cavern, back flip and open fire on another
white tiger (7). When it's dead,
continue forward to the next room, with weapons still drawn, and turn
left. Head forward and two more tigers (8,
9) will attack. Kill them by jumping backwards and side to
side. When it's safe, run forward and climb onto the pedistal to
obtain the Tibetan Mask (9). Turn around drop to the ground. Run forward and turn right and return to the previous tunnel. Turn left when Lara reaches the lowest point of the slopes and run up the slope toward upper left, where the once closed door, is now open. Enter the dark tunnel, taking a zig to the left. Run forward and drop to the wooden floor of a high walkway. Turn left and draw weapons. Run forward and drop down the hole into the hole at the far end. Turn right and open fire on a yeti (10) that attacks from the opposite side of the room and step carefully into the room. Draw pistols and locate another yeti (11) that's running around in the room below. Fire on it through the long openings in the floor until it is dead. Run to the far corner of the room and collect a large Medi Pack (10). Turn around walk forward to the nearest opening. Sidestep to the left such that Lara is at the center of the opening facing an unlit brazier. Safety drop into the center of the opening to the floor below. Lara will take a little damage when she lands. Light a flare to realize that dropping down anywhere else would have impaled Lara on fields of spikes. Turn left and run to the wall. Turn left again and run until Lara reaches the corner. Pick up two sets of clips for the automatics (11, 12) and turn left again and continue to the opposite corner of the room. Turn left again and run along the opposite wall until Lara reaches a ledge on the right. Turn right and climb up onto the ledge. Run forward and turn right and run to the end of the balcony to obtain a small Medi Pack (13). Reverse roll and run back to the other end of this balcony to find the receptacle for the mask. Use the mask to open the door, and turn left and safety drop to the floor. Side step to the left and climb up into the doorway and step outside onto the rope bridge. Lara has returned to a familiar place. Turn left and take a running jump to reach a ledge. Turn left and step up to pick up another box of flares (14). Turn around, step back down to the snowy ledge and turn right taking a running jump back to the rope bridge. Turn left and run to the other side of the rope bridge. Turn left and enter the tunnel, and turn right. Step down to the ledge below, and take a standing jump diagonally to the left to land on the ledge beyond. Run forward and pull the lever on the left wall to tip the giant brazier. Hot oil will run down and melt a hole in the frozen pool below. Ready weapons, turn right and take a standing jump to the slope below. Lara will slide to the ground and two white Bengal tigers (12, 13) will attack from the tunnel beyond. Open fire, hopping backwards away from them as they attack. When they are dead, run forward and enter the tunnel they emerged from to the next room of this cavern. Turn left and climb up onto the ledge, and light a flare. Run forward and drop off the left side of the ledge into the pool of water. Swim down and pick up two pairs of Uzi Clips (15, 16) from the underwater pedistal. |

Gong Hammer
|
Surface and pull up. Turn right, run forward, and turn right again.
Pull up and run forward, dropping back to the ground. Turn left and
enter the next cavern. In the left corner Lara will find two boxes of
shotgun shells (17, 18). Turn around and
return to the, now melted, pool. Drop into the water and pick up the
Gong Hammer (19). Swimming near the gate
will alert a pair of catfish (14, 15).
Surface and kill them with pistols. When the water is safe, drop back
in and swim down into the next room. Three yeti (16, 17, 18) are running around in this next room. Be careful of the icicles that are dangling over the shallow end of this room. The yeti will be very hard to kill. An effective method of dealing with them is to use the harpoon gun from the water, if Lara has enough harpoons. Only shoot at the closest one. If for no other reason, hitting them once or twice with harpoons will scare them away, giving Lara time to wade onto land and pull her Uzis on them. Whenever Lara gets into trouble, back flip into the water and try the harpoons again. When they are dead, run forward with weapons ready and head to the left. As Lara approaches the tunnel to the left, another yeti (19) will emerge. Back flip away while firing to kill it. When it's dead, walk over to the tunnel, stopping just before the ledge. Stand to the left of the doorway and walk just around the corner into the doorway to trigger the icicles and slip inside. Ready weapons and turn left and head toward the icy end of the cave. Another yeti (20) will climb out from behind the ice. Kill it quickly, and then climb over the little ice embankment and drop down into the alcove behind it. Pick up three sets of grenades (20, 21, 22) from one end of the alcove, and a grenade (23) from the other end. If Lara is no already carrying the grenade launcher, she will receive it instead of one of the grenades. Climb back over the ice embankment and head to the other end of the room, turn right and exit through the tunnel. Run forward across the room, and turn left at the other side of the room and enter the passage. Run forward and ready guns. Turn left and another yeti (21) will charge down from above. After killing it, pick up the small Medi Pack (24) and climb up the steps. At the top of the steps step forward to approach the large room outside and two icy boulders will rumble past the opening. Take a few steps forward and a third boulder will begin to roll. Take a hop back to avoid it. Now angle Lara to the left, down the incline towards the far right corner. Start running, taking a couple of running jumps to reach the ledge in that corner as a fleet of boulders will avalanche down the slope behind Lara. Walk diagonally to the left until Lara reaches an icy slope. Turn around and slide down the slope backwards, grabbing the edge when she slips off. Shimmy to the left until Lara is lined up with the passageway beyond. Pull up and press jump to back flip onto the opposite ledge. Turn around and take a running jump and grab to reach the opposite wall. Climb up the icy wall, and pull up into the tunnel at the top, shifting to one side or the other as is necessary. Walk forward until Lara reaches a slope. Turn around and slide backwards down the slope and drop onto the roof of the Ice Palace. Lara will take significant damage when she lands, so make sure she has enough health. Now use the gong hammer to sound the gong and open the doors to the Ice Palace below. Turn around and walk forward, down the steps to the front of the Ice Palace. Safety drop off the end of the steps to land on a slope below. Lara will slide backwards and land on the ground. |

SECRET #3
|
Turn around and run forward to the opposite end of the room. After
Lara passes the four pillars, some of which are broken, turn left.
Walk to the edge of the crevice in front of the ladder. Light a
flare and take a standing jump and grab to reach the ladder. Climb
down, and when Lara reaches the ledge below, drop down the left side
of the ledge. Drop again to the ledge below that, and pull the lever
to open the door to the structure next to the palace. Climb up the
two ledges and then climb back up the ladder. When Lara nears the top of the ladder, press the jump button to back flip off the ladder, over the crevice, onto the snowy ground. Turn around and run back toward the Ice Palace, and head to the right where the small building is. Climb into the open doorway, and drop into the room. Run forward and climb onto the pedistal to collect SECRET #3, the jade dragon (25) and four grenades (26, 27, 28, 29). Drop back to the ground and climb out of the room. Turn left and head back toward the front of the Ice Palace. |

The Talion
|
Run around to the front left corner of the palace, and step onto the
ledge to the left. Turn back to the right and take a standing jump up
to the sloping ledge of the palace. Run forward and turn right.
Climb up into the Ice Palace, and drop into the crevice inside. Climb
up onto the platform in the center of the palace, and pick up the
Talion (30). After picking up the Talion, Lara must battle the Guardian of the Talion (22) to leave the Ice Palace. The Guardian will emerge from its cave when Lara exits the Ice Palace and touches the ground outside. Take a standing jump from the platform of ice to the window on the far side of the room. Step forward and slide to the ground to release the guardian. The guardian's cave is on the opposite side of the room, run forward and make a wide loop around snowy area in front of the Ice palace to avoid the guardian. Lara can enter the guardian's cave to collect two pairs of Uzi clips (31, 32) and a large Medi Pack (33). If Lara does choose to attempt to obtain these items, it is recommended that she make two trips into the guardian's cave, as there will be just enough time to enter, grab an item, reverse roll and exit before the guardian arrives. When it comes to dealing with the guardian itself, it is recommended that Lara climbs back to the ledge that leads to the entrance of the Ice Palace. Then run past the entrance to the back corner. Turn right and climb up onto the roof of the palace. Turn right again and walk forward until Lara reaches the sloped ledge at the far end. Turn left and jump and climb over a slanted ledge and slide back to the area in front of the gong. Turn right and draw pistols. Walk out to the end of the steps and fire on the guardian from above. When it falls, the level will end. |
