The Great Wall
Items: 14
Kills: 23
If you were expecting a boring little level to acquaint yourself with the sequel to Tomb Raider, you are in for a nasty surprise. You should probably go home and run around in your backyard if you need more practice. This level is for real adventurers.
Nowhere to Go...
...but up. Wondering how to get out of this pit? You can see the interesting stuff above you when the helicopter flew by. The way up will require you to get a little wet. Hope you brought an extra pair of dry socks.
Eating Crow
Is the last of the three crows getting in your face? Give yourself some room to run around first.
Knock, Knock
Nobody's home and the door is locked. Like most people, they hid the key nearby. It's not under a rock, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding it if you look
That's Security
Having a locked door right behind a locked door certainly guarantees security. Too bad they left the key right above your head. Here's an opportunity to try out one of Lara's new moves.
You Blockhead!
Stuck already? You can see the way out, but it looks like you need to be the size of a rat to squeeze through that opening. Consider whether you can widen the opening.
A Close Shave
A pool with a tunnel on the other side. Simple and straight forward, right? Wrong. Notice those slits along both sides of the wall and on the far wall? They shoot out sharp round blades that will turn you into ground beef. Through the water is definitely not the way to go. Can you find the "high road"?
Indiana Jane
Ah ha! Remember what happens at the beginning of the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie after Indy grabbed the idol? That's a stroll in the park compared to what you're about to face. Here begins a sequence of events that is guaranteed to get your adrenaline flowing and make your heart pound. Broken floor tiles, right? You know what to do and what not do to. Door closes behind you. That should give you that sinking feeling. What's that rumbling noise? Better get moving. Taking a lot of damage getting through this first trap? Try doing a standing jump when you reach the end or try jumping earlier if you're running. You should land on the ramp and not in the hole.
Claustrophobia
It's not just a feeling, the walls are actually closing in! The worst part is that they have sharp spikes protruding from them. Again, get moving and you should find a way out. Don't stand too near the entrance of the tunnel that leads you out, because those spikes can still get you.
100M Hurdles
That's basically what the next sequence is. Your opponent is not another runner, but a painful and gory death. Time your jumps, and keep moving. If you must stop, don't waste any time smelling the roses. Do what you must, but move on! At the end of this sequence, you will find yourself in another claustrophobic room. The way out is right under your nose.
Deli Meat
That's what Lara's going to be: sliced thin; if you're not paying attention to what's in the next room. There's no trick. Start moving after the rolling blade has completely passed.
Yeehaaa!
That's what you'll be screaming as Lara rips down the rope slide. Use the action key to grab onto the handles, and release only when it's a safe drop to the ground. Hey, what's that big moving orange thing?
