Sights to See
Welcome to Venice, Italy. One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Rich in culture and history, Venice is probably most well known for its canals. Venice was resort for noblemen during the Roman Empire, and it is still attracts visitors from all over the world.

The city is built upon small islands within a lagoon off the Adriatic Sea, but the city's founders clearly had more vision than sense. The many stone and brick buildings stand on pilings which elevate them above the level of the water. This buildings have stood this way for centuries.

While in Venice, you should visit some of our beautiful museums and churches, and no visit to Venice can be complete without a ride in a gondola. If you feel the gondolas are too slow a means of transportation, you can always rent a speedboat from one of the locals. We recommend extreme care when navigating our narrow canals. Many an unwary tourist has suffered injury from carelessness and reckless piloting. Other than that, enjoy the romance of Venice.
Local Fauna
Venice, has a bit of a vermin problem. Aside from that, there isn't much to speak of in terms of indigenous creatures.
Locals
It is important for you to realize that Venice is a very densely populated city, and as with most densely populated cities, we have a bit of a crime problem. The local rif-raf can be dangerous, because they are often armed and own attack dogs. Stay with your tour group or visit the more public places for your own safety. If you choose to wander into dark alley's we cannot be held responsible for your safety.
Souvenirs
In your time in Venice, you will want to acquire a couple keys. They are nothing special, just made of iron or steel, and the craftsmanship isn't even that great. You will, however, find that they unlock doors that will make your stay in Venice much more interesting. Also keep a sharp eye out on where you can obtain a fine pair of fully automatic pistols.
Hidden Treasures
One secret is concealed merely by darkness. The second you will likely float right past. The last is placed in plain sight, but few will take the time to look.
Hazards
The greatest hazard in Venice is the number of people bent on inflicting bodily harm to you. When duking it out with some of the local hooligans and you find that you don't have enough elbow room to get around, consider employing bigger firepower when dealing with jerks that are armed. Aside from the locals, be careful of what's in the water. It's not all smooth sailing, because there are some underwater mines that will really ruin your day if you're not paying attention.
