Venice
Items: 30
Kills: 24
Venice has more twists and turns than a pretzel. More often than not you will probably find yourself at an apparent dead end. In fact, you even start the level off in one. Here are some hints that will get you on your way.
Beneath the Surface
After a gunfight with the cultist, attacked by a couple of dogs, and narrowly being bludgeoned to death by a guy with a baseball bat, you find yourself with very few options. The first thing to check out is what's beneath the surface. Look around very carefully. Just because someone puts a door somewhere doesn't imply it complete prevents entry.
Lost my Keys
If you noticed anything about this part of Venice, is that there's no doors anywhere. Ever lose your house keys and need to get inside? Sometimes when you're out of non-violent methods, you need to take matters in your own hands. Final hint: try the windows.
Boat Rentals?
Problem getting the boat? Looking for someone who runs the local boat rentals? Perhaps you accidentally shot him to death. What are you going to do? Well, I'd recommend checking the bodies of poor sods you aced. Maybe the boat belongs to one of them. If you're truly unable to figure it out, you should know that it is possible to complete this level without obtaining the boat at all. It will, however be less fun, and slightly more difficulty.
Locks
Ever been to see the Panama Canal? Sometimes you need to get a boat from one water level to another. It's called "locks". It's pretty cool to watch, but even cooler to experience in this game.
Water Water Everywhere
Zipping around in the canal's of Venice, and haven't the first clue what to do? If managed to obtain the first speed boat, then you need to retrieve two keys to open two doors, which leads to two switches, when thrown, open two gates that hinder your exit from this level. You can be sure those two keys will be under heavy guard.
It's Mine!
Well, you can have them! A whole bunch of underwater mines line a canal that leads to the exit (you should recognize the symbol on the door). If Lara is in a boat while passing the mines, she will be blown to smithereens. If you haven't read the General Guide on boating you should. Notice how there's another boat right near the mines? I sure hope you got the insurance when you rented that first boat.
This Way Out
The exit door is on a timer, so you need to be fairly proficient at piloting the speed boat, so as to be able to make it out before the door closes. There are a few things you should be aware of. First is the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. So the straighter that line to the exit, the faster you'll get there. The second thing is, this is going to be a great time for you to check out what that little speedboat of yours can do.
