Wreck of the Maria Doria |
Items: 41 |
Kills: 35 |
|
Hope you enjoyed your brief run around the cargo bays of the sunken ship, finally, you will get your first taste of the inside of the Wreck of the Maria Doria.
Sights to See |
Welcome to the Maria Doria. It wasn't merely a cargo ship, as you
might have thought from your first impressions. The Maria Doria was
also a luxury liner if there ever was one. Not only was the Maria
Doria meant to carry cargo, it was meant to carry people, and to do it
in style. Within the upper decks of the Maria Doria you will have a first hand look at its many luxuries, including an indoor swimming pool, a lounge, and even a grand ballroom. This ship was even equipped with full rest rooms. Don't think you'll be able to make use of it, because, as you recall, the ship has come to a rest upside down. As you wander past the walls of its open atriums, you will find them lined with paintings. Gianni Bartoli, owner of the Maria Doria, spared no expense when it came to surrounding himself and his friends with fine art. Your tour of the ship will include a visit to the bridge. Just be careful along the way, as there is still fuel aboard, and some of the electrical systems are still in operation. Little surprise that you should find open flames on board. During your visit, we hope you will take the time out to enjoy the cool waters just outside. Hope you packed lots of harpoons, because spear fishing in this deeper water is guaranteed to be more rewarding than in the shallower waters above. |
||
Local Fauna |
You're underwater, what did you expect to find down here? Well, there are more sharks and barracuda for you to practice harpooning. You will also encounter an interesting underwater enemy that is indigenous to this great depth: the moray eel. Don't bother trying to spear yourself one of these guys for dinner. For more information, you should consult our wilderness guide on eels.
Salvage Crew |
There are far more crew members down here than you encountered before. Expect to see lots more gun toting and wrench wielding cult members, as well as more scuba divers. Perhaps they've been down here too long. They all seem awful irritable.
Souvenirs
|
There are a few items you need to collect while you're here. In order to put out a couple of those fires we mentioned earlier, you will need to recover three circuit breakers. That won't be an easy task, as they will be behind some locked doors. Don't worry, we're sure that the keys you need are lying around here somewhere. Also, in case you missed that M-16 assault rifle, you get a second chance to add one to your arsenal.
Hidden Treasures |
The first secret is visible to the average voyeur, and you will be risking life and limb if you're after the second. The third is hidden in the depths of the ocean, and with all the unfriendly wildlife, it will definitely be a challenge to obtain.
Hazards |
Well, there are so many of them to name. Of course be careful of the cult members, as they still have their sights set on you. Also swimming around in the great deep can be hazardous to your health if you don't keep a sharp eye out for those nasty fish while keeping the other monitoring your air. It's a sad victory to successfully avoid a shark bite, only to drown. Also beware of broken glass. One of the drawbacks to building such a luxurious ship is that, damage to the ship is guaranteed to create lots of sharp glass everywhere. |
