Bartoli's Hideout
Items: 28
Kills: 37
As always, in your never ending attempts to avoid the usual tourist traps, you find yourself in the unwelcome parts of Venice. But since you're here, allow us to give you a tour of Bartoli's Hideout.
Sights to See
We're not sure how you managed to find this place, but since you're here, you might as well take the tour.

Welcome to the mansion of the late, great magician, Gianni Bartoli. Bartoli was obsessed with ancient Chinese artifacts. Rumor has it that he has spent his life collecting such things. Towards the end of his life, he was so obsessed with obtaining the legendary Dagger of Xian and enlisted so much help to locate it that he formed a cult, the Fiama Nera, consisting of mercenaries and other lewd fellows, all dedicated to the possession of the power of the Dragon.

He did pretty well for himself and his huge mansion attest to his former glory. The architecture dates well back to the renaissance, and the statues and balconies adorn every room and every wall. The walls are covered with the finest Venetian wallpapers. Even the chandeliers were crafted by skilled artisans to be of the the highest quality. Bartoli, himself, also was quite educated, as can be seen by his enormous collection of rare books in his library.

However, the mansion is not as welcoming as you might think. Bartoli was always quite eccentric and distrusted strangers. Along with traps of his own design, he borrowed a few from Chinese ruins that he's found. Being very proud of his precious collection of books he has that part of the house tucked away behind lock and key.

During your tour of the house, please don't upset the hired help or the dogs that guard the property. We are also planning some renovations, so be careful any demolition that might be going on.
Local Fauna
As with the rest of Venice, expect to find rats, and as previously mentioned, there are dobermans employed as guard dogs all over the property.
Servants
The hideout is heavily guarded, not only by dogs, but also by people. You have probably run into other member's of Bartoli's cult previously in Venice. Keep in mind that now you're on their turf.
Souvenirs
Because Bartoli was so suspicious, you will need to locate a key to let yourself into his library. If you plan on helping with the renovations to the house, you will need to locate a key that unlocks the detonator. Finally, in your travels through Bartoli's Hideout, keep a watchful eye out for a stashing place for a pair of Uzi's.
Hidden Treasures
The first secret is in plain view, but the path that leads to it is easy to miss. The second secret is tucked away deep out of reach. The last... well... if you're not careful, you'll blow it to smithereens.
Hazards
As with the rest of Venice, you need to beware of gunmen intent on dancing on your grave. This time throw in some deadly booby traps, and that pretty much sums up what you're up against here.
