Deeper within the ocean rig, you will discover the true purpose of this elaborate structure. The rig workers let you get this far, but they're sure to be a lot more diligent in preventing your progress now.
Sights to See |
Nope. The accommodations aren't any better inside the ocean rig. In
fact, it seems like the staff is even less courteous and welcoming
than before. Be sure to mention it to the manager. No one should
tolerate such bad service. Since you're here in the heart of the offshore rig, you might as well have a look around. This is the Diving Area, with much more machinery, computer panels and security monitors than before. You can bet that this is the heart of this operation. Among the high tech implements of this area are motor-driven gantries with hooks to use to lift and move heavy equipment around. Also watch your step because there is an area where some toxic waste from the rig is being stored. We recommend that you stay clear of those areas, but knowing you, you won't be heeding our warnings. You probably didn't suspect this from the outside, but high atop this structure is a heliopad that is equipped with an elaborate hydraulic lift mechanism that can raise and lower the pad complete with helicopter. Of course, the reason this is called the diving area is because it houses a small submersible vehicle, which apparently is crucial to a salvage operation of some sort. Be sure to check out their wonderful selection of wet-suits. Perhaps you'll even find something in your size. |

Rig Workers |
You will get a chance to see those scuba divers up close this time around, but that's not all. Along with the usual complement of dobermans and various guards, armed with pipes, machine guns, or shotguns, you will find a new enemy to deal with here. Huge guys wielding flamethrowers are guarding this area. Don't sweat it too much. Their bark is much worse than their bite.
Souvenirs
|
Because security is so tight here, you will need to retrieve two pass cards in order to gain access to all parts of the diving area. Besides the pass cards, you're going to need two machine chips to operate some of the equipment. If you didn't grab the harpoon gun in the last level, you'll get yet another chance to pick one up here. There's also some serious firepower lying around the diving area in the form of an M-16, so keep a sharp eye out for them.
Hidden Treasures |
You, literally, can't miss first secret. The second secret can be seen fairly clearly, but you're job will be to get at it. You will probably miss the last secret if you're in a big hurry.
Hazards |
What can be said about the diving area that hasn't already been said? Besides the aforementioned toxic waste, and a couple of long falls that can easily be avoided if you're careful, this is a fairly safe level. The biggest threat to your life will be enemies that seem to jump out of every corner of this rig. This area isn't very large, but for such a small area, it's packed with bad guys. |
