Diving Area
Items: 39
Kills: 34
This is not a very large area, and you'll be making a lot of trips back and forth between two main rooms. Remember that doorway that shut itself when you tried to approach back in the offshore rig, well, now you're at the destination. The running back and forth can leave people confused, so here's a few tips to set you in the right direction.
You're grounded
Or simply ground, if you don't look before you leap. There's a propeller below that is sucking water out of the pool below. If you jump in there, it'll surely suck you through as well. Fortunately, there's a way to turn it off. It's right in front of your nose.
Hooked on Lara
Those hooks on the motorized gantries are simple enough to avoid. You will have to get onto both blocks, but you only need to cross the path of one hook. If you miss, don't worry, look around for a way to let you to try again.
Acid Bath
This is one bath you don't want to take. It is possible to get across the toxic waste, but you should save your game because that jump just barely get's Lara across. You might have problems getting there, try sliding down the right side of that middle part of the ramp. Also remember that keeping the forward key pressed always makes Lara jump a few inches further.
Chutes and Ladders
You've just climbed the longest ladder you've ever seen and might ever see again. Now there's a hole in the ground with a ramp at the bottom. You're thinking to yourself, "I just climbed several stories, what are the chances that there's a really nasty fall at the bottom of this slide?" Well, you're half right. Sliding down the "wrong" way won't kill you, but it's a detour you can avoid.
Blue Card Blues
Getting the blue pass card from the ground isn't the right move, that's why it's important to get to the catwalk. Guess you'll have to climb back up.
Hot Stuff
Lara meet flamethrower. Don't worry. He's not as bad as he looks, but don't get so caught up with that guy that you ignore the four dobermans that'll rip you to shreds. From here, your options are limited. One door is the one you came in from, and is now closed. One door leads to a room you might remember from the offshore rig. Of the remaining two doors you can open, there's only one that is accessible to you. Fairly straight forward, right?
Take the Plunge
The stairs down appears to lead to a room with a lot of closed doors. What you're looking for here is in the water. What you'll find is a couple of levers and a some trouble.
Hey, What's Cookin'?
Hopefully not Lara. This is the first of many trips between the heliopad and the circular saw room you will need to make. Don't worry about the chopper. That's not your objective. There's an item you need and one you definitely want in the control room beyond. There's a button and a switch. Spend a little time figuring out how long each timer is. If you're the kind that likes to play the odds and want to just guess and go, then you should know that you have a fifty-fifty chance of not turning Lara into a giant candle.
Chips Anyone?
Got a chip and having trouble figuring out where it goes? Go back to the room with the pool and circular saw. The receptacle is hidden behind something.
Dive! Dive!
Let's recap. You entered a heavily guarded room with a pool. You dive in to discover that the pool is also heavily guarded. A underwater tunnel leads to a deep pool with a submarine at the bottom, and you can't even surface to take a look around? Well the purpose of this room is in the one place that you can get out. Yeah, it bites that you have to come this far for so little, but that's the way it is. After you've opened a door to the control you, it's back into the briny deep for you.
The Latest Buzz
Door's open, and two goons are on the attack. What's so great about that control room? It operates the gantry that's suspending the cement slab over the pool. Now that you can get across the pool, let me remind you that putting your hand (or head for that matter) into a running circular saw is a bad idea. Turn it off? Great idea! Best take a good look around, eh?
Need a Lift?
Found the button. Nope. It doesn't turn of the saw. But, wow! What it did do was raise the heliopad! Hey, look! There's something underneath it. And some bad guys too.
Chip Off the Old Blockhead
Don't be fooled. The thug is there to keep you occupied while his friend sprays you with napalm. Either take out the thug quick, or let him club you while you deal with his friend. Either way, don't get yourself toasted. By the way, the thug has something you need.
Watch That First Step
After you get the red pass card and open the exit door. Watch that first step. It's a doozie. Nope, not a long fall, just a big rig worker armed with a shotgun and you without anywhere to run to. There's a really great way to deal with him. It involves your trusty shotgun.
