The Deck
Items: 35
Kills: 30
What this level lacks in area, it makes up for in volume. It's not a particularly big level, but it's vast enough to keep one running around aimlessly for hours. Here's some tips to keep you moving.
Dive! Dive!
Had your fill of running around aimless on the lower outside deck. You can't get to the upper decks yet, no matter how hard you try. It's true that you must get down to the ocean floor, but a drop from the deck will surely end your life. There is another way down, however; it's a little more contorted but you'll also snatch a useful item in the process.
Crate Expectations
The next part has to do with the crates, and changing their orientation. The purpose is not to get you to the rocky crags across from the crates, but to get at something behind the crates. There are four crates, and only one of which will not be requiring any moving. It is not possible to move two crates, that are sitting on top of each other, at the same time. Lara does not possess superhuman strength, though what she does possess is already quite incredible. The part that might confound you is how to move the upper block. Think of any configuration of the crates that will allow you to do that?
Obtaining Leverage
Within the door in the stern of the ship is a watery passage. Some may mistakenly believe that the purpose of this swim is to get further along, but rather there's only one action that is relevant, and it will open a platform elsewhere that allows you to climb to new heights.
Deja Vu
The purpose of the little back and forth between the midship and the stern is to drain it of water. First off, it's important to note that, when filled with water this passage seemed like a snap, but now the drop to the bottom is now quite significant. Next, you'll experience a little deja vu as you pass through this area that was formerly flooded, only to find the same dead end as you had found when the tunnel was flooded? That's definitely not right. Examine that thing that looks like a closed door. Examine it really closely, because you'll soon realize that it's not a door at all.
Road Less Traveled
The cave with the life raft can keep people pretty occupied because there's a couple of side caves as well as a means to travel the rocks all around the cave, but no apparent way to get onto the life raft. Well, first deal with all the enemies that can be found. Next, course of action is to get to the life raft, and if you can't jump across to it or climb onto it, maybe you can find a means to drop in on it from above. But watch that first step. No matter what you do, it'll still be a doozie.
Time To Go
If you've managed to get to the life raft, and survive the fall, you're doing great. Little wonder why someone would leave a large Medi Pack right in front of the hole, huh? Now it's time to leave this area and you can't seem to find your way out. If you were either in a hurry or are not a very observant person, then in your quest to get to the life raft, you probably zipped right past the exit without even noticing.
Playing With A New Deck
You're not where you started, but in a higher plane. Nope we're not talking Zen meditation, we're talking physical location. But aside from a few items of general interest, your next destination is actually the deck above this one. The path, however, will not take you up, but rather you must go down first. I hope you got a close look at the hull of the ship's stern earlier. There was lots of stuff of apparent interest up there, well... you now have a means to get to it. Just don't let any shiny objects distract you from your goal -- just yet!
Leaps of Faith
There are two somewhat blind leaps that must take place here. The first is a little step off the hull, with hopes of finding the crevice below, but for those short of faith, a little looking will let you see what you must do. The next part is to get from the ship's stern to a cave that is nearly invisible. Just take our word for it, take a running leap of faith, and you'll end up even higher than when you started.
Game Show
The next part is like a big game show. Behind door number one are enemies. Behind door number two is a pit of deadly broken glass, and behind door number three? The item you've been searching this whole time for. The choice is an easy one, right? Unfortunately, you'll have to open the first two to get to the third. Nothing in life is free. Oh, by the way, that pit behind door number two? Even with a flare, you might find it hard to see where you need to go. Your clue is this: Being that this game was written by a company in England, which side do you think you should stay on when running across the broken floor?
Down Please
Now that you've finally made it way up on the very top of this ship, it's time to get down. Getting back to the upper deck is fairly trivial, you can backtrack or just slide down. From the upper decks there are at least two ways down to the ocean floor. Both require a little work, but you should know both of them already. However, before getting down, you might like to look down at what's waiting for you. Don't procrastinate, deal with them now.
